AI text follow-up
AI text message follow-up for leads
A text gets read when an email doesn't and a call goes to voicemail. Sara uses texts as one of three channels to reach a lead, with opt-outs handled before any AI touches the reply.
How AI texting works with Sara
- She drafts a short, specific text for a lead, in your voice, and shows it to you as a proposal.
- You approve it; it goes out between 9:00am to 6:00pm on a weekday, your time.
- When the lead replies, Sara reads it in context: answers a question, offers times, or books the meeting.
- If they reply STOP, "remove me", "do not contact" or anything like it, that's caught by a fixed rule before any AI sees the message, and the number is never texted again.
Where texting fits
Texts work best as the second or third touch, after an email or a missed call, and for people who already know you: someone who filled out a form, asked for a quote, or went quiet after a first conversation. Keep them short and human; a text that reads like an ad gets ignored or reported.
The rules for texting
- Under the TCPA, texts count as calls. Marketing texts to cell phones generally need the person's consent, and several states (Florida and Oklahoma among them) add their own stricter rules.
- U.S. carriers require business texting to be registered (10DLC) and to honor opt-out keywords like STOP.
- Every text should make it clear who it's from.
Get consent before you call or text people. Under U.S. law an AI voice counts as an "artificial voice," so calling someone's cell phone with one needs their prior consent (written consent for sales calls), and marketing texts work the same way. Sara reminds you of this and gives you the controls, but you choose who to contact. Read the plain-English guide →
What it costs
Each text is 5¢ in credits. Plans start at $35 a month (4,500 credits), and new accounts get 500 free credits. Calls cost about 31.7¢ a minute, texts 5¢, emails 3¢, a decision-maker lookup 15¢ and each lead found 4¢.
Common questions
Can AI reply to text messages from leads?
Yes. Sara reads replies in the context of the conversation so far and answers questions, offers times or books the meeting. Opt-out replies are handled by a fixed rule first, so an opt-out never depends on the AI.
Do I need consent to text leads?
For marketing texts to cell phones, generally yes: texts count as calls under the TCPA, and some states are stricter. This isn't legal advice; check the rules for where your leads are.
How much does each text cost?
5¢ per text in credits with Sara.
